I've decided, Im gonna live on a boat. And no Yasser I don't care what you say. We are living on a boat and that's it, end of story.
As you might understand I loved sailing. And I especially I loved sailing in the Whitsunday Islands. We just got back from our 2 nights/3 days sailingtrip and are now once again in Airlie Beach. This have so far been the best thing I've ever done in Australia. Not only did I snorkel for the first time in my life, met awesume people from all over the world, we also got to see many many dolphins, and while snorkeling I saw a huuuuuge turtle on the bottom of a reef. He was adoreble, and not the slightest scared. He didn't mind me beeing there at all. And about the dolphins, it was totaly unneccesary for us to do that dolphintour in Port Stephens. When we were sailing yesterday all of a sudden, from nowhere this group of dolphins came up right infront of the boat. They we're probably about 10 dolphins, if not more and they we so playful, even came up next to the boat. But I didn't have the camera with me at that precise moment (like always) Bummer! Would have been able to take some great shots.
On the picture you see Whitehaven Bay which is the most fotographed place in the Whitsundays. And guess what, I've been there, I've even went for a swim there. With my stingersuit on ofcourse, there's alot of stingrays and other things lurking in the water. It's just as beautiful on pictures as it is in real life, if not more in real life. It literally took my breath away.
Snorkelling was lots of fun. It's a totaly differen't world down there. And the fish are amazing, so many differen't sizes and colours. The "capten" of our boat usually never snorkels but decided to go for a dip in the blue with us. Afterwards he told us that he was angry, sad and hurt. The reef is dieing he explained. Thanks to us humans the reef gets destroyed more and more for each year that passes. A few years ago it was much more colourful, beautiful and most of all alive. It's ashame to think that in the furture maybe people wont be able to take part of the amazing world down there. But we have outselves to blame...
Tonight we are going out with the crew from our sailingboat and some of the other passengers. Should be fun. But we have a Greyhound to catch tomorrow at 9 am (to Townsville) so we have to think about getting in bed early.
