Dates in Ko Tao: Thurs 12/02/09 - Thurs 19/02/09
From the last blog entry I have been to the island Ko Phangan, and Koh Tao. Ko Phangan was crazy, the full moon parties are huge, and about 30,000 people come across for the party each month, and cram onto a beach where there are many bars and DJs. It was a really good night, and we all had a good time with no accidents.
We left Ko Phangan on the 12th, and have now spent a week in Koh Tao. This island is alot smaller, but very much nicer. Better beaches and more chilled out atmosphere. We spent the 1st few nights in Sairee beach, which is the busy spot, and then the last few days in Chalok, which again, is quieter. Round the corner from Chalok is Shark Bay (the photo) where we did the swimming with the sharks. They were blacktip fin sharks, and we saw up to 16 swimming below us at once! They were probably just as curious as we were. The biggest we saw was up to 2meters long, and the closest one came to about 2meters away!
This is the last day on Koh Tao, and Jules and I are getting the ferry across to Chumphon, and staying a night there before heading to Bangkok for 1 night. From there we will make our plans to go north to Chang Mai, Laos and Cambodia. I have been advised to get the visas for the countires in Bangkok as makes it alot easier when we are at the boarders.
Hope everything is well with everyone at home....
