Hi everyone
well since my last blog I've been seeing the sights of Vancouver and Stanley Park, which is bigger than central park in New York. I got the big bus tour which took me through Chinatown, Granville Island and onto Stanley Park. I got off the bus and went for a walk around the sea wall which is beautiful as you can see the whole of the skyline with the harbour and seaplanes in front. I took a guided tour on a horse drawn carriage/tram through the park and saw many weird twisted tress that grow their roots over the top of dead stumps and when the stumps decay it the trees look like they are 'dancing' as their limbs are all contorted.
I went to Victroria for a nearly a week. I got the bus and ferry over. It's great because the ferry takes you through the gulf islands and we had a lovely sunny day and bright blue seas. Victoria is reminicent of England in some places, very pretty, but it is touristy and set up for shopping. I did go to the BC museum which had some interesting fossils and interactive displays on climate change. I also went to the IMAX and was surprised that it wasn't 3d. They have a London Wax museum, which was surprisingly good and full of the Royal family and British politicians. It has a really good horror section complete with moving bodiless heads!! On the Saturady I heard alot of noise by the parliament biulding, and found about 2 or 300 people all dressed as Zombies, complete with blood and ripped clothes. They then ran into the town centre and stopped all the traffic!! I didn't have my camera on me -shame, cause it was sooo funny.
I came back to Vancouver and chilled for a bit, but the weather has turned and it's raining all the time. It's not too bad in the hostel cause you get to meet other people and most importantly - do my laundry!!
