yeh the colds going away finally.nice one on the easy week. its been more than thirty everyday here. which is a bit irritating but we're hard.
so... update since i last spoke to you:
after internetting you we went for a potter to look for a travel agent a woman in our hotel had recommended who was very helpful. on the way we got adopted by an old thai lady who insisted on taking us to a 7/11 so we could get some water and walking us to a good travel agent she knew because it was on the way to the school where she was picking up her daughter from.(so schweet!). in the travel agent the girl was a LEGEND well funny and girly. like a mini aroon (?!) and was super helpful, we're going back there to book a beach trip to pattaya for a few days while we kill some time waiting for the boys to come out.
on the way back to the hotel we got accosted by some bloke who was trying to persuade us to get in a tuktuk to see the temples because the petrol price was cheaper because the government were trying to promote thai clothing export. so we got a huge tour of lots of temples for 20 baht. the catch was we had to go into a couple of dodgey thai tailors. where we were called "lovely jubly" and asked if we "knew the dogs b******s":S a small price to pay. we then stayed in that night because casino royale was on tv :D and we had a pretty alright hotel.
yesterday we had our first go at bartering. which was hugely unsuccessful. jess is well tight. so much so one of the shopkeepers threw her calculator at us:S we then went for lunch at a teeny little stall in teh street where i had the best pork noodle soup EVER and some old thai people sat taking the piss out of us at our retardedness at using chop sticks. we then went back to the hotel we'd just checked in at (yes, 3 hotels in 3 days:S) which had a pool so we had an afternoon of reading and swimming. the pool was on top of the roof so you can see the whole of bangkok which was pretty b****ing. we met a lad from doncaster called rob whos travelling by himself for 11 months and went for some rice with him. we stayed up late and watched chinese mtv with him. hes going on to cairns today. although it had a pool our hotel was GROSS. nice and flea ridden. and extremely dirty.
BUT we checked out this morning and found a hostel which was cheaper and like a palace:D its so clean and modern. such a find! so we're on a bit of a "we rock" high:D and the staff are super nice so we're going to stay here for a few days.
we're planning on going to the night market tonight to snap us up some nice fake designer handbags. going to some temples and the royal palace tomorrow and travel agents on tuesday. at some point we've got to fit in a visit to the post office. then on wednesday we're going to a beach resort until saturday when we return for the lads to meet us.
we're considering chopping down our time in thai land because we dont really want to go to northern thai land (train is super expensive) and we think a month is a bit too long. watch this space.
we didnt go to the full moon party because the travel agent lady said there was no way on hell we'd get somewhere to stay at such late notice as i think most people arrive about three days before to make sure they have somewhere. we wernt too bothered.
drinking lots of water, havent left jess' side and eating well. we havent caught ANY sun yet even though its super sunny because we're so anal about suncream and i've only been bitten once and i think that was by a flea:S because we bought really strong citronella spray. our sleepings a bit weird. we keep trying to go to bed at about eleven but dont sleep until about 3 or 4 and wake up about 10. last night we slept a bit more though so hopefully we'll sort ourselves out.
