We arrived in Koh Chang after a five hour bus journey, thai videos were played in the coach the whole way which was great!!!The coach journey otherwise was really pleasant, they gave us blankets, food etc and the landscape was very pretty. We got he ferry to the island and arrived on (a lot b\igger island than expected at about 7. We then took a taxi ride to Lonely Beach along the only road on the island but couldn't see much as it was eally dark! The whole way we thought about what our hut would be like...luckily it really did exceed our expectations.. it is a wooden hut with a shower, bed, fan and deck etc and a holey mosquito net!We had dinner in the restaurant...chilli and lime pork with rice which was SO SPICY but i ate it all...well not the chillis! We then walked along the beach and went back to our hut, woke up the next morning and got straight into my bikini and walked a few metres to the beach...white sand and blue sea, so beautiful. Across from the beach are 5 islands which we are going to explore and snorkel at tomorrow. We had a really nice breakfast with juice and then go into a truck to go to the elephant centre. The elephants were big and very scary at first..they move their trunks around right up to your face and are truly massive! We got on to the elephants by literally standing on their necks and sat on a bench sort of thing on their necks. Their skin is so rough and dry. We went on a trek through the jungle and obviously the leaders had to tease hannah and i by getting the elephants to put their trunnks right up to our faces etc....the flora and fauna was so beautiful and as we trekked higher the view became even more spectacular. We then headed towards a river and ended up taking our clothes of...left with our bikinis on and literally swimming in the river on the elephants bare backs and get dunked under and chucked in to the water....have some very funny photos! It was such a great experience-one which i will never forget! We then headed back to the huts and to the beach for a spot of sunbathing. The sea is so warm i got in immediately....suprising hey! After a few hours of reading and sunbathing we went and had a smoothie in the resturab\nt and relaxed on hammocks on the beach.....just to spoil myself even more i had a thai coconut oil massage on the beach!was so relaxing until the end when i had my back twisted and cracked and my neck squished, an hour later i felt like wobbly jelly!Tonight we are going to a beach party just along the beach, they have live music and a bbq which should be fun!Really looking forward to doing a spot of island hopping tomorrow!Hope everyone is well, i miss you lots! x x x
