so got woken up at 8 this morning ready for our trek! got a taxi for an hour or two up to the mountain, where we ate lunch with a tribe, cant remember what they were called :S but they were originally from burmah and moved to the mountains but they arent allowed into the town because they havent got green cards or something :S gave a few of the very grubby children some piggy backs! we then trekked for a couple hours, saw some people on the hill side harvesting ginger! got to our next hill tribe, where all the huts were made of bamboo, we were shown our beds and had a quick nap before they cooked us a dinner of green curry, rice and a ceansprout dish... really nice! ate it by candle light as there was no electrisity, which also meant we have to go to the toilet in pairs so one could hold the candle! found myself in a toilet holding a candle for a dutch girl i had met a few hours before... very weird! after dinner the children of the tribe dance and sang for us in their little tribe clothes, it was so cute! so i showed them some of our dancing, including heads, shoulders, knees and toes, and the hokey kokey! we then just sat around the candles trying to play some drinking games, very difficult where 5 of the korean people couldnt speak a word of english! finally went to bed on our straw matts, were given blankets but it was still freezing! slept pretty well though! woken up at 8 again in the morning had breakfast then a 2 hour trekk to a small waterfall where we had a little wash! was refreshing but freezing! then had another trekk for an hour, which should have been shorter but we kept having to wait for the koreans who kept falling over in the rivers and walking really slowly! finally arrived at the elephant camp, watched them being showered then rode them through the jungle for abit, there was a baby elephant aswell which was cute! kept tripping the other elephants up! after another hour trekk and a lunch of rice and veg, we came to another river which we floated round on bamboo rafts... well we were supposed to float, although since there were 4 of us on it, we were pretty much submered in the water anyway, which would of been fine if we were scared of sea snakes! got back to the guest house and all the girls i was with have got boats and buses to other places, so for the first time in my trip i have my own room! i have literally just spent an hour in the HOT shower! so nice! 3washed my hair, painted my nails.. feels soooo good!!!
