On the night of Kat's birthday we went out for a gorgeous tapas meal at a place called The Balcony. It was so good! Then went to a favourite backpacker bar Cheeky Monkeys. Ended up playing some random drinking game with some random people but both me and Kat were too good and never lost!
The next day we had a trip out to Nimbin. Nimbin is basically a town where a load of hippies settled in the 1960s and 1970s and set up this little community. All the shops are painted bright vivid colours and everyone is like all 'peace man' ha ha. Its also famous for been the only place in Australia where you can smoke and buy cannabis everywhere. Its not leagal and there were police walking about but everyone was doing it, we walked past the pub and nearly got stoned just from the fumes coming out the door was mad! We had a funny time though laughing at the hippies, especially this old woman dressed in tie dye who sold Kat this bracelet which was supposed to 'shake up her base chankra, challenge her belief systems, find her spirituality and show her inner beauty' or something similar. Was a good laugh and a bit freaky!
After we went to this waterfall in some jungle for cliff diving and a swim. It was chucking it down though and a bit miserable oh and there were massive fish in there so me and Kat didn't bother, and anyway it was hardly like the waterfalls in Thailand was a bit muddy looking. But we did have a massive trek through the jungle to get there and just had to keep our minds off creepy crawlies that want to eat you! Then we had a bbq but was still raining so a bit gay really.
Today it's still raining! Theres a cyclone just off the coast, looks like our bad luck is finally catching up with us, so can't even work on our tans. Just wandering about trying not to get wet really.
For those of you who don't know I'm having to come home early due to my lack of funds! I fly to Fiji tomorrow, then on to LA for a few days, then finally New York before home. Kat's staying out here about another month and is travelling up to Cairns, which I would have love to have done but I'm in so much debt need to get home and back to work. Its a shame we won't be finishing the trip together but I've had an absolutely fantastic time with her, we really have done some once in a lifetime things that I'll never forget. Will be weird being on my own though, I'm sure I'll be ringing her in the middle of the night to see what shes up to though ha ha. Make sure you have enough fun for both of us Kat, I'll miss you it's been fantastic!!!!!!!!
