Monday 10th February
I'm writing this a couple of days as I just didn't have time on the actual day!
So I had to be picked up from mine at 7:15am to get to the airport for 8:30am. I was so excited the night before but I almost felt more nervous than anything! My alarm went off at 5:30am and I woke up straight away!
Showered and packed I was ready and out of the door for 10 past. Even having packed I still felt nervous- the feeling I'd forgotten something (which I did as I had to leave a fair bit behind as It wouldn't all fit in my bag!). I was in a little mini bus I'd pre ordered with some Australian women who were going to New Zealand. They were all about mums age and I was telling them all about Jamie's arrival.
Eventually at the airport I go to the board to see which gate to wait for him at...it wasn't even on the board as I was too early! So I decided to calm my nerves by having a cup of tea and a smarties cookie. As I was sat there eating it I started shaking. I was so nervous!
Once I'd finished that it was almost time for him to arrive. He was due to land at 8:45am so back over to the board I went only to find he was delayed until 9:15am! Omg I was gutted! I stood there though waiting and waiting- watching other couples run up to one another crying, hugging. It made me want to cry and I started welling up. The thought of seeing Jamie made me want to cry (in a good way of course lol!). Having been apart from him for 4 months I honestly couldn't believe I was going to see him again. Anyway, keeping my eye closely on everyone walking down- I spotted him! My heart started beating so fast, I felt all hot and bothered and so nervous but excited! I ran up to him hugged and kissed him and cried. I will never ever forget that moment at the airport- all the emotions I was feeling! It was amazing! After hugging him for a while we moved outside and he was telling me about his flight etc and it's so weird but it felt like we'd never been apart all these months!
We got a taxi to cronulla to save faffing around with trains. Once we were at cronulla we got on the little ferry across to bundeena which was just BEAUTIFUL! When we came off the ferry the lady who runs the b&b I booked picked us up and took us to the b&b. Bundeena itself was beautiful but very small! They only had one bottle shop, one take away and one restaurant!
Anyway getting to our place we were just blown away- the room was how I expected but actually even better! It looked out to sea! And we could hear the waves crashing In the sea while we were lay on our bed! Just amazing! We also had a lovely little kitchen area and best of all a spa bath! It's amazing how little things like a bath you can miss!
As Jamie was quite jet lagged we tried to keep awake- we had a stroll on the beach which was almost a private beach it was that quiet with no one on it!! When we came back to the place we sat outside and looked to sea with our bottle of champagne I'd ordered for the room! :-) The lady kindly gave us a little home made snack which was like a bruschetta sort of dish it was delicious! Jamie had an hours sleep which sort of made him feel worse. Then we went for an early dinner (early as Jamie was jetlagged but also because places shut very early!). We used our money from mum and dad for our meal which was a big help and very thoughtful so thank you! :-)
Jamie bless him went to sleep at 8pm but I didn't care- I was just so happy to be with him! And I knew he would be very jetlagged. I'd go as far as saying that day was the best day of my trip so far having my baby back with me :-) xxxx
