This was a spontaneous decision that we made because luck seemed to be on our side. After finally making our flight to Managua we decided that a trip to the Bay Islands, Honduras was unlikely so we decided to try our luck once again and head to the TICA bus terminal. By chance there was a bus leaving for San Salvador soon after we arrived so we purchased tickets and before we knew it we were heading to El Salvador. Unlike our terrible experience at passport control in Nicaragua this experience was a lot less stressful but more inconvienient. I think every memeber of passport control got to see our passports at some point. Luckily we didn´t have to get off the bus.
In El Salvador we checked into Ximenas guest house where we stayed for two nights. Its a lot more westernised than any of the other countries we´ve visited so far so we slipped straight into our western culture and headed to the cinema to see Batman. We ate Subway too! Feeling guilty for our unbackpackery ways we decided the next day to head to Capricho´s BeachHouse on the coast.
Capricho´s was exactly one taxi ride and two bus rides away and took us half a day to get there but it was again a beautiful beach surrounded by hammocks where we found it easy to relax and chill out for a few days.
