We start the 7km trek through Kings Canyon at 7.30am to avoid the heat. Despite the fairly hard going trek the views from the top of the creek are pretty amazing and cooling off in the waters in the Garden of Eden in the centre of the creek ease the trek back.
Following this I take a 10 minute helicopter flight over Kings Canyon which is not only a completely new and fantastic experience but really allows me to appreciate the sheer sizeof the creek.
Just when we thought our Outback adventure was over as we headed home to Alice Springs, our trailor detaches from our truck and somersaults (many times!) down the road! The next hour is spent retrieving our luggage and tying it to the roof of the truck. Unfortunately, it was one of those moments which seem very funny now but at the time in the 37c heat and the longingness to get to Alice Springs to unpack and shower, it certainly was not and the vehicle driving by to stop and take photos of this circus act certainly didn't help!
We eventually arrive in Alice Springs, say our goodbyes and go our seperate ways. How good it will be to sleep in a bed with a roof over my head tonight!
