Kia Ora One and All
Well, I arrived safe and sound in Christchurch on the 14th January. Since being here Jess and I have been touring the city, browsing the shops and the delights of Christchurch. The city reminds me very much of England, with the River Avon running through it and the river walk, Oxford Terrace. The plants and climate is very similar to England too and makes a pleasant change to Australia. Kiwi people are also softer spoken that Australians.
We have also taken a ride in a Gondola to the top of the Banks Peninsula and were rewarded with superb views over Lyttleton Harbour and beyond to the Southern Alps.
Si will be landing on the 21st January, which is very exciting. We wil stay in Christchurch overnight and then the plan is to head first to Akaroa, then cross-country to Queenstown via Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook. I can hardly stop grinning! How lucky I am to be in New Zealand.
Sending you all lots of love, and wishing you were here to enjoy the wonderful sites.
