We successfully got out early to make the most of the sunshine! We found a great spot on the beachfront and the weather was incredible. However it was so ridiculously hot that it was impossible to sunbathe for more than around 10 minutes without having to get in the baby blue clear sea to cool down. The water was amazing and you could see right down to the sea floor!
We indulged in a really great (hangover necessary) lunch and just in general had a really chilled day. It was so relaxing and felt great to work on my tan which is now coming along nicely. After a wander around we returned to the hostel and relaxed for a while. Tonight was going to be a big one as there was a beach full moon party planned for the island!
We went to the local street food market for dinner which was incredible and so cheap we got a bowl of noodles plus four other dishes each and a chicken sate skewer for just over £1 - and it was absolutely delicious. I do love Indonesian food.
Predrinking at the hostel was nuts and so much fun. We had a really good group of people for the night. After having enough Joss Shots for the meantime and the hostel bar closed we all moved in mass to Lava Bar. Emily and I ended up paying the most hilarious drinking games with a group of Dutch and Canadians and ended up drinking way too many vodkas - woops! It was one of the guys last night on the island and he bought 25 Joss Shots in one go for everyone! So funny.
We all then moved to another bar before ending up at Surf Bar for the beach party. The night was definitely a messy one but I had a really incredible night. At one point I remember Emily and I went to wee on the beach (the toilets were horrendous) and as we were squatted on the sand - wee pooling beneath us - an Indonesian man decided that at that exact moment he wanted to strike up a conversation with us. We were like what the hell is wrong with you?! But we cried with laughter at how terrible that must have looked. We even ended up dancing in the DJ booth with the DJs! For a lot of the night we just may on the beach looking up at the stars as they were so beautiful. I was absolutely swarmed by short Indonesian men wanting to dance with me (obviously overwhelmed by a white girl so little!).
We watched the sunrise on the beach which was astonishing - a phenomenal sight, and walked home hand in hand along the beach at 6.30 am talking about just how much we loved each other and how lucky we were to be best friends (so soppy hehe). The night ended with us begging for our free breakfast at our hostel an hour early (it's not supposed to start until 7.30) to which they said a definite no; it was such a good night.
