First stop was Dubai which was absolutely amazing when we finally got over the jetlag. Arrived there about 7 am and was allowed to check in but only a disabled room available which was quite funny as Jonjo had to keep kneeling down to use the shower and it had a chair in the bathroom (lazy mans shower) which we were grateful of after the long journey from Liverpool to Heathrow by National Express then a 7 hr flight to Dubai.
We had a few hours sleep then we got a cab to the Burj Al Arab which is even better than what you see on TV and brochures. You are not allowed unless you are a guest or pay them mega bucks to have a peek so we happily stood outside like paupers taking pictures and vowing to return and stay in the 1k suite when we win the lotto.
Our next destination was the massive shopping mall, which is like Blackpool inside as it has a amusement park for the kids, needless to say we enjoyed it just as much.
We had a look in Tiffany & Co and Jonjo bought me my birthday present which is the ring I have always wanted aawwww.
After the shopping mall we headed back to the hotel for a quick change and headed to a few bars and a place we had read up on called Vue's which is at the very top of the Emirates Tower and overlooks the whole of Dubai. Very swanky, so swanky that they wouldn't let Jonjo in with open toed shoes on so not to let that put us off we went and found this little Arabic shop and bought him the funniest pair of slippers/shoes so we could get in. and when we did it was well worth it. The only bad thing was we couldn't take pics of the view as it is glass panelled so refelction bounced off onto camera. We had a bottle of wine, a few cocktails, and then headed back to Hotel realising it was 4am so went to bed for our next journey to Bangkok via Singapore so will keep you posted when we reach there.
