Hi all,
Since i last wrote we have done a fair bit!
We did our sailing trip around the whitsundays, which was amazing. We had good weather and good visibility for the snorkeling the one day. We sailed to whitehaven beach first, see photo, then we did a bit of snorkeling but it was a bit murky, so we had dinner and wine looking up at the stars on the deck of the boat. Then to bed in our private canbins on the boat. The food was great and as there were only 12 of us on the boat it was a small friendly group.
Up at 7 the next morning to sail to our next snorkeling spot, the fishbowl! I have never seen so many fish, it was amazing, they were so diverse and colourful and pretty (except the ones with teeth). R icky saw Nemo but i couldnt find him! Ricky kept diving down to get good shots with the underwater camera, only he whacked his head on the coral and cut it at one point! But its healed ok.
We spent a few hours there then on to the next spot where we were searching for big green sea turtles, we found 2 and managed to have a swim them! was brilliant!
It was sad to leave the boat but we had to head back to airlie beach! We met some nice guys from england on the boat, andy and tristan, who we happened to then get the ferry to magnetic island with.
Magnetic island, was nice, quiet and laid back, not that much to do but luckily we had sun so we just lazed on the beach for a bit and went in the sea where there were stinger nets! Ricky tried snorkeiling but it too murky, been too windy. Our hostel had a few possums that hung around in the garden and ricky tried to feed them, he got his finger bitten, there was a bit of shouting but all ok! We aslo by chance got the ferry back with the boys and then the bus to cairns with them
We booked our trip to cape Trib and the Daintree and who was on the bus, andy and tris. So we did a few walks together in the rainforest and played cards in the evening- was really nice! We went on a croc spotting boat on the daintree and we saw three, one was massive, 5 metres! We also saw a python in the trees, we then got dropped off at cape trib beach house where it decided to rain for the next 2 hours. When it stopped we went for a walk along the bech and throught the rainforest! was lovely.
We went back and did some spider spotting at the becah house found some big golden orbs, easily the size of your hand, and others that we didnt know what they were!
On the way back to cairns we stopped at a jungle ice cream place and went the the mossman gorge and alexandra lookout, all quite pretty!
So we are back in cairns now, relaxing and saving money as we fly ti singapore tomorrow!
See you all soon
