So we were all dreading the 12 hour night bus from melbourne to sydney but when we got to the coach and it was bigger than usual with loads of leg room we thought it might not be so bad. Once we'd loaded our increasing heavy bags onto the coach we jumped aboard. As we travelled through melbourne we were glad to see the back of it for what would be the third time and watched as the sun set behind the buildings. The driver put a dvd on, girly chick which made emma happy and we sat back to watch it. Until both emma and laura had annoying paople infront of them that kept moving their heads side to side to they both couldn't see. Laura tried watching it on the screen above emma's head but it didn't work. So after the guys in front eventually got comfy everyone could watch the film. As the time went on everyone got more and more uncomfortable, especially laura and amy as the people infront of them had their seats right back and didn't seem to have as much room as emma did. But emma had a ramdom next to her so could rest her head on anyones shoulder. The rest of the time was spent wriggling about trying to get comfy with the trusty travel pillows. In total we all must have only had about 2hours sleep each. We arrived in sydney at 7am and after collecting our bags off the coach we then decided hike what felt like miles (but really only a few blocks) to our hostel instead of taking a taxi. We then dumped our bags, paid for our room and headed out to find breakfast. After walking into one little cafe and looking at the prices we headed back to macdonalds then saw a supermarket and thought that would do instead. So we went down to the hostel kitchen (which looked like a bomb had hit, people obviously don't know how to wash up here) and emma made herself a bacon sandwich. And currently we are all facebooking sat waiting to check into our room so we can have a much needed shower and possibly a little nap although we'd should go and explore. So thats the first 3 hours of our sydney experience, much more to come....
So our first day in sydney we did loads considering how tired and slightly grumpy we all were. We headed down to harbour in our usual trick of going the longest way possible. We walked under the harbour bridge and amys face told emma and laura that the opera house was just over the water. We gazed up at the bridge watching a few people climb it and amy trying to decide whether or not to do it then we found the best ever ice cream van. It was mr softy to laura's delight with a flake then dipped in melting chocolate which emma had nuts rolled in and laura had sprinkles. Both emma and amy got it all over their faces which laura thought was hilarious to capture on camera. But all agreed it had to be the best idea for an ice-cream cone We then walked further round the harbour and stopped to watch a street performer, bendy em. Who managed to put her legs round her neck and spin on a disk then squeezed into a tiny little box.
