After we had recovered from new year in new york, we headed to Newark airport to travel to LA. after waiting 2hours, checking in and going through security the guy at the boarding gate told us the flight had been cancelled because the breaks on the plane doesnt work. just our luck this was the only connecting flight we had. so a lady tried sorting us out with other flights, and the only one we could get on that day was a hour taxi ride to JFK airport. in this time we had to re-claim our bags and try get a re-fund for the baggage fare we paid then make our way to JFk. after 20 minutes trying to get a re-fund from an annoying woman we left to get the taxi and we had the slowest taxi driver in the world, and by this time our plane was leaving in about an hour and a half. you can imagine how much we was panicing and choking an the taxi mans after shave. We eventually arrived at the airport with half an hour to spare, but we had to check our bags in and go through security which was the biggest que ever. so we pushed in both at the check out and security, we had five mintues till boarding but laura got searched and tested for drugs!! we made it. Amy descided she needed some water as our mouths felt liked a cat had s*** in them but she did not have enough time our names where called. we ran to the desk and to our suprise we had been upgraded to business class!!

We couldn't believe our luck - after the worst morning in recoreded history a good thing had happened, we even had exit seats for even more room. we looked liked tramps together with kids in a sweet shop. we got menus. free drinks and full reclining chairs (which we made the best of)

Once we arrived in LAX, we headed for our hotel and compared to the hostel we had been stayin in it was luxuary. heated swimmin pool, room service and clean sheets!!! we had a wonder up street but that was about it, we got into bed about 730.

the next day we went to universal studios. Amy was a little kid and was well excioted. once we had arrived we went to the haunted house. Amy and Emma s*** them sens like someone was actually gonna get murdered. we went on all the rides and got some ben and jerry's much to Amy's delight!!. After a long day we went back to the hotel and had a swim which was freezin but we made the most of the facilities. After the swim we decided to have a drink to celebrate a belated new year but after discoving the prices $25 for 3 drinks we had 1 and went to bed. the next day we visited hollywood we went on a tour, which was pretty s*** but we got to see the hollywood sign, the walk of fame amongst other things. this included going for a drink at what can only be described as - an AA meeting with a very distinct smell of weed and had pictures of the seven dwafs hangin on the walls. Along with all this everyone bar from us was drinkin cloudy, sick looking beer in 34oz glasses, needless to stay we had one drink and headed for home.
