well we arrived into bangkok really early in the morning, so we headed straight to koh san road to find somewhere to saty, which only took an hour or so!... our fgirst day in bangkok was def an experience we had our first tuk-tuk ride the guy took us to the completly wrong place and charged us for the pleaseure of doing so... after several trips on various tuk tuks we eventually got to the palace, which is where we first wanted to go... but by the time we had got there it was shut... so the moral of the story is to not get tuk-tuk's!!!
next day we got up early to head to the southern bus station where we caught the bus to Kanchanburi the bus took 2 hours . once we arrived we jumped into a taxi/truck, and drove to the railway museum which was just opposite the war cemetary. the museum itself was actually really good and gave loads of info on the prisoners of war and what they had to do on the railway. after a walk around the cemetary, which is quite similar to the war graves in belgium.. we we went up to the bridge over the river kwai and walked accross it. after a quick ice cream stop, as it was so hot...we headed for the train station, to catch the 4 hour train back to bangkok. we did the train back as it was the scenic route apparently! and to be fair it was a lot more scenic than the bus ride! was really cool though, they even had women who had made food come on the train to sell it to u, nice...
next day we made an early start back to the bus station to get the bus down to surrathani, unfortunaely we missed the bus by half an hour, so we brought opur tickets for the next bus which was at 7 in the evening, we headed back to koh san for the day and checked out the shopping! in the evening we headed back to the bus station, but unforutnately our taxi driver didnt understand where we wanted to go so he took us to the train station which is at the completly opposite end to the bus staion. we jumnped out of his car and itno another taxi, only to get to the bus station as the buspulled away! despit helen sprinting through the mud at the station to flag it down and me and luc trailing behind with all the bags! musthave been a funny sight!!! however we managed to get the 8pm overnight bus which was all good. we got to the ferry port to catch the ferry at 6am in the morning, the ferry only took about an hour over to samui. when we arrived we jumped staright into a taxi and headed for Lamai where we stayed at white sands for a few night, which was nice as it was right on the beach.
After a few days of realxing we caught the ferry to Kophanagn. once we arrived we checked into neptunes, which was really swanky, even had air con! the day we got there it was half moon, which ment party in the jungle! def an experience.......
after a few days on phangan we headed to Kotao to do a bit of diving...which was awseome, altogther got to do 6 dives in 2 days...felt great to go diving again!! after a few days of diving we though we'd better move on to Phi Phi on thre other side of the country, this invoilved an overnight ferry,, which was actually the best nights sleep i had, we had our own matress on the floor..great! then a bus drive to krabi then another ferry to the island. we checked into harmony house when we got there for the few nights. the next day we did a boat trip of the surrounding islands. We started off at phi phi ley, and went to maya beach which is where the film was made, it kind of spoit it though when there were about 1000 other ppl there and about 30 boats...we also were a bit adventurous anfd decided to snorke;l into the beach from the boat, not realising quite how far away it was took us an hour to get to the beach and back....!!!!! after we managed to get back to the boat we sailed past losamah bay and viking cave then pileh bay. we got the chance to go snborkelling onb shark island but didnt see any sharks. next stop was bamboo island which was amazing, clear seas, pure white sand, and we were the only boat there...very nice! we headed back to the boat for lunch the off to mosquito island but we didnt stop there we carried on to monkey bay where there were monkey's on the beach waiting for us!! we sayed on the boat to see the sunset, but it was really cloudy so it wasnt a very good one.
the next day we left early and caught the ferry back to krabi where we caught the bus to Ao Nang then a longtail boat to Ton Sai where we stayed for a few days just chilling on the beach, and did a bit of kyaking around the caves, which was cool! we caught a longtail boat back to krabi and headed for Koh sok antional park where we spent the night . the next day we did a 12k walk throught the park where i think i lost about 3 stone in sweat!!!!!! that evening we caught a bus to surrathani, the an overnight train up to bangkok. once we got to bangkok we caught a train to Araynpharet, which was the border crossing into cambodia, however because our train took 6 hours, and nearly boke down!!! by the time we got there the border was shut, so we stayed the night there then headed accross the border first thing the next day in to Poipet.
