Up early, coffee and walked down to the pier. Hopped on a ferry and went to Wat Po which was amazing. Reclining Budda HUGE! Went across the river and saw Wat Arun which was also breathtaking but I managed to screw up my knee coming down the really steep steps.
Hobbled over to the Grand Palace which was 'closed' so got in a tuk tuk that took me to Wat Indrawham which had a massive standing up Budda. Also went to Wat Saket which was at the top of a hill with great views of the city. A little bit off the tourist trail as well which was nice as it was a lot quieter than the others. Also got taken to a jewellers and a tailors as the drivers get petrol vouchers for all the customers they take there.
Headed back to Grande Palace which was suprisingly now open. Cost a fortune to get in but had to be done. I have never seen so much gold or so many sequins in one place in my life. There was even something called the 'Glittering Budda' but by one o'clock it was boiling hot and I took shelter for a bit before heading to the Kings residence as well as going to see some beautiful old swords. Amazed me that there were spears, daggers, knives and guns all on display without any casing.
Had some lunch and headed back to the hotel. Found where the tour has to meet in the morning. Really excited about the next few days.
