So....................... this is my first blog so excuse me if its not my best. Arrived here in Singapore yesterday, flight went really well, was so suprised how comfortable the seats were its just a shame i got lumbered with an old (ish) smelly (ish) man from oz who snored like a gooden for the best part of the flight (apart from when he awoke his deep sleep to scoff down his dinner). so yeah, when we arrived i was as fresh as a daisy. even though my current state of mind, neither me nor nat could find the station to get to our hostel so we thought sod it, we'll get a cab. was quite reasonable actually so that was all ok. on arrival we thought we'd come to the wrong place. this hangout hostel is absolutly lovely, must be because its on mount emily!!! we checked in, got shown to our room and that was that. met a lovely girl called alex who has been working in sydney for the past four months and is now going on to thailand. we fancieda little look round so just walked out to see where it would take us, met a nice man who at first were a little suspicious of but was actually nice- see nan, you can trust some people!!!! so yeah, he took us to little india, does exactly what is says on the tin- full of em!!! not that thats a problem of course. and then we took it from there. stopped for a little plate of noodles- the real deal, and then came back to the room, done emails etc. didnt sleep too well last night though, partly because we slept most of the flight and partly because of the heat, grinding of teeth, sleep talking and my itchy feet. Todays been really lovely though and we will sleep better tonight for sure. got up at 7, met the other room mates who are really nice, went down for our continental breakfast, mind you could of gone down, put our toast on, had a shower (wgich were freezing btw) straightened my hair with great carefullness and applied a full face of makeup before the toast actually came out the electronic machine, and even then it had to go back in to brown it off! so yeah, went to santosa island today which qwas absolutly gorgeous!!! never been anywhere half as exotic, sunbathed for a bit, paddled in the sea, went on an overhead cart thin which seemed a little unsteady, done a nature walk where nat nearly got eaten alive by a lizard which whipped her with his tail and then went to an underwater world where we saw dolphins do tricks etc- never seen a dolphin before- i LOVE them. cant decide whether its cruel or clever to make them do shows though. so where was i, yeah, got the underground back to little india which they seemed to enjoy, it was like we were in a show, they are not in discreet in the fact that we're obviously a different race. mind you, they probly thought i was an albino so dont blame them for staring- i would too! so this is my update at 4.15pm, just about to have another freezing shower because we're being picked up at 5.30 to go on our night time safari. cant wait. wow, thinking about it, its been an animla packed day- just call me steve irwin why dont ya! ill let you know how it goes when i arrive in sydney for the next blog. leave tomorrow morning, our flight is ten o clock, only 7 hours this time though. wish me luck with my next passenger! x
