so just got back from our 8 day tour 'the treasures of the north'. been an amasing experience met some of the nicest people and seen things wed never of seen otherwise!
firstly il introduce you to our group! theres us three obviuosly then, lisa from sydney, hayley from lichfield, james south london, craig oz, sophie and monique from melbourne, cath from tazmania, randy calafornia and karen near newcastle (oz)!
all really nice, got a variety of ages were the youngest and the oldest late 40s! so nice groups evryones really friendly. sad to leave them yesterday really. oh and of course cant forget our tour leader su, shes thai, cant say her full anme so we just call her su, very very nice lady! and so cute, alex asked if she could take her home!
first night we met, went for a meal together, so got to know people abit. then a few of us went out afterwards, had a really good night out, checked out the local bars on koh san road, ended up in an irsih bar singing our lungs out to bohemian rapsedy, very odd!
set of the next day feeling slightly worse for wear to the train station, and off to sukhothai! slept most of the way, had lunch which was possibly the worst meal of my life! really bad. long train journey, and in the heat and sitting still my feet swelled up whcih wasnt to pleasant.
arrived at the first guest house, whcih was very nice, had a pool, bar and the rooms were very nice. gorgeous place too, palm trees everywhere etc, didnt feel like just down the road was a pretty small, kind of a dump town!
had another thai massage, which was sooo good! so much nicer than the last one, very relaxing, a really young girl did mine and she was brill. very surprised. went on a bike ride the next day round the historical park, sukhothai used to be the capital city of thailand so lots of relics everywhere, very interseting. i had an orange bioke and they were like almost choppers proepr old school really funny. strange ridin a bike thoguh not done it in so long! learnt a few things bout thailand too now. it used to be call sian and thailand means freedom land. also know how to say hello, cya, thankyou and how much! all you need to know, althoguh finding when i do say them they think i know thai and try ahving a conversation with me which i really cant do! so thtas always quite funny when i just look at them bewildered thinkin what the hell are you saying!
had lunch in the park, the lady that owned the massage parlor cooked for us and we ahd a picnic, was very nice one of the best meals weve had i think, she made a very nice variety of things and we just sat and chilled out so was nice!
gotta go ill finish of my week later!
