Hi there all. Since our last blog, lots has happened. All good I'm glad to say, we successfully met up with Hayley and Dan and had a few days on the beach in south Phuket. Nice, but very busy and much more expensive than in the north. yesterday we visited the gibbon sanctuary and sat at another amazing waterfall. Today we travelled north and into the province of phang nga only 40km from Phuket hoping to find amazing beaches amongst the dramatic limestone cliffs, but to our dismay there is no beach accessable from the mainland. so as i write we are finding out where they are. looks like we gonna catch a boat south to one of the islands ko yao noi or ko yao yai so we can do some snorkling and kayaking. apparently there are many sharks but only reef sharks, so i think i can handle that! The cup will of course be coming with us!
We have taken so may photos its very hard to download them all as it takes so long, many internet cafes are only on dial up systems. but they will appear bit by bit.
Things seem much faster down here and its hard to feel relaxed cos your travelling large distances every day. Also it feels like time is slipping through our fingers really quickly and its almost over. But many exciting things still to look forward too. We plan to hit the next island of Ko Lipe to do our PADI course as we have heard that this beautiful but small island is very quiet and cheap.
The local beer is great, my favourite is Chang ( means elephant in Thai) and is 6.4% to start as this beer is not regulated so very unpredictable, brilliant for those lazy days and nights, and at 20 - 80 pence a go! Sarah of course is starting to lay it of a bit cos shes a good girl. But she has replaced her intake with the local rum at 80% proof and vitamin C tablets not really an alternative but she feels better about it, Ha Ha.
Looking forward to spending the next few days with Hayley and Dan, very knowledgable about the culture and getting a good bargain which has been invaluable. But will sadly have to leave them soon as they are travelling north, and we are going south.
Hope the Mount wise crew are holding it together in my absence and the little ones aren't too much trouble! Malc and Griff had a scrap yet? hope not, sort them out Hev. love you guys, keep the messages coming, its nice to hear from you.
Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the ways to dingles!! can't imagine the Thursday nights in town seems a million miles away from our lives out here, its hard to keep tags on what day it is, where as you guys are counting down to crimbo.
Love to you mum. hope the house isn't stressing you out too much, what will be, will be, trust it and yourself. Just think one less crimbo pressie to get! Hope all is wellxxxAnd happy birthday to dad and Sharon. Thanks for the book its really useful. oh Hayley and Dan wish you both a happy birthday too.
