Kia Ora!!
We have been travelling around in our Jucy Wagon for the last few days. Note that the speed has been omitted on this occasion!!
The first day in Christchurch was a write off having arrived late and spent an hour picking up Jucy. The following day, we ventured into Christchurch (remarkably similar to Cambridge - without cyclists) and took the tram around the track, which you could have walked faster!! Brilliant though.
After finding a camera shop to charge the camera, and Graeme buying another, we headed South. We made it as far as Oamaru and spent the night here. The following morning, we headed to the beach in search of endangered Yellow Eyed Penguins. Normally, they would be feeding in the ocean, but we were lucky enough to see a pair which couldn't be bothered with the early start either.
Further along the beach, we saw a Fur Seal which was basking in the sun, amid giant seaweed which were rather pungent. Then on to Dunedin for the Taipei Gorge Railway.
The following day, we ventured further along the coast and saw Sea Lions and more Penguins. On Shag Point, there were a number of Shags about....Must be the breeding season.
After numerous stops along the coastline, we headed for the Fjords. We arrived at night and had no idea what we would wake up to. The following morning, we woke up to the most amazing views of Milfird Sound. We booked a trip and 2 hours later, we were aboard a boat taking us past waterfalls and mountains. It was wonderful.
This afternoon, we headed to Te Anu for a fuel re-fill and then on to Queenstown. We are debating the activities to undertake in the so called "Adrenalin Capital"... Jet Boating or "Swinging"..... We'll keep you updated...
