hey guys its a very sleepy and hungry Rosie!
We've been on the road for a few days now with our cornish traveller amy from padtow (legend). We left Pahia on wednesday night and travelled back to auckland where we stayed for one night and didn't get out to the pub till bout eleven because we kept getting stuck in the lift! We got up early the next day and travelled up mount eden to see auckland from up high and then carried on down south towards mercury bay. we visited cathedral cove which was stunning but a bloody mission to get to! we hiked down the cliffs to the beach and we kept sliding around in our flip flops, not (suitable footwear). The rock formations were so strange but almost quite arty. the sand was so white and because its a marine reserve the water was an amazing turquiose again i;m working on the pictures getting up here! Its also going to be in the next narnia film they were shooting last week! I play the lion.
We also walked through a huge gorg i forget what its called because i think the name is maori and complicated, we walked over scary swing bridges which may kept swinging on as we walked which scared the crap out of us and other backpackers on the bridge! we walked through a 1km long goldmining tunnel and we literally couldn't see anything! scary man!
We arrived in Rotorua last night and we went to a maori tribal evening. The maoris picked us up and drove us to their village in the hills where they sang and chanted (very intimidating) but AMAZING! very clever dances the woods we were in were big and scary though. we ate a HUGE maori feast yup thats right us back packers actually got to eat a massive proper meal even had the gorgeous newzealand lamb and loads of pudding thought it would fill me up 2 day but i'm gagging for some timtams now!
Anyway on that note need to do my laundry and do a food shop, having a house wife day! thank you all for your lovely messages missing you all lots take good care of yourselves rose xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
