Hey guys its Rosie in the bay of islands the very very north of the north island. tropical climate here which is always very pleasant we're staying in a very small traditional kiwi village called pahia. The climate here is tropical which is always pleasant, the locals are friendly lots of cute little bars with lots of bamboo, lots of kiwi BBQs and LOTS of beer! Export gold is our frequently blagged pint for us girlies! theres a fish auction here in the afternoons with fish as big as me which i'm quite scared about!
We walked to haruru falls which was awesome, very jungly and tropical with lots of big scary birds flying around with big nests, which may attempted to launch a twig at one which point Emily and i legged it fast in the opposite direction! (may was only messing) so she amused herself by launching a twig into a huge spiders nest instead which again had Emily and I running for dear life! we walked over a board walk which took us over scary swamps GOLLUM LAND! I was quite scared but Bav would have loved it man! The falls were big and noisy but beautiful!
Yesterday we went out to play with the DOLPHINES! there were one hundred dolphines in the bay! We went out in the morning and saw none at all so we cruised the bay of 144 islands and stopped a very small remote island for a drink then headed back to pahia. So us girls got a free trip out again in the afternoon where we found 100 of them with their babies. They were playing in a huge and when i say huge imean HUGE swell! (bigger than that dreaded lyme bay crosssing parents and jesse) but it was amazing! The boat we were on had a dipped bow so that we could a really close encounter with the dolphine. They feed at sunrise so they are usually at their most active in the morning. these ones must have been taking happy pills or something coz they were MENTAL! Literally throwing themselves around all over the place. Me emily and may put on our boardies and braved it out! the waves were roaring and as the boat sufed down the swell the dolpnes would jump and play with us. We were told to sing and move around because they liked the sound of our voices. They were a bit shy of our feet tho. Every now and then a huge wave would break over our heads and the dolphines would have the time of their lives it was like they were dancing they were really playing with our attention. i think the sea sick oldies on board got a bit sick of the three of us sqwauking and screaming all the time tho hehehehe! its not our fault they get motion sickness don't get on a boat if thats the case!
