After enduring the most hideous, longest, turbulence fulfilled flight, I have finally made it to Sydney on 3rd September 2012.
Dubai airport was amazing and so nd so shiny (didn't have a chance to make it out if the airport to explore before my connecting flight), and Sydney is out of this world. I would describe it as London meets New York with an Australian accent.
We find everything by blocks, so we walk 3 blocks down then 1 block to the right, it is so weird but I am getting used to it. I have never met so many people from Denmark and I have met at least 15 in the past 12 days and they like to shout 'scholl' which means 'cheers' especially with a beer in hand.
I have met some amazing people nice arriving and even got a chance to try and surf. I completely failed and only managed to body surf and never stood up but I know that my stand on the board is called a 'goofy'.
'Goon' which is their cheapest alcohol here, tastes absolutely disgusting (lambrini amd lambrusco actually tastes better if that is even possible) but you can use the silver bag inside as a pillow if need be.
Bondi beach is just a small beach, I wouldn't say it was amazing and it was so cold when we went. The BBQ was amazing and so where the surfers, they made good tv to watch.
We took a boat ride and saw the Sydney Opera House and the harbor bridge. The opera house is not even white and is like a muggy colour yet the bridge is amazing. We even saw dolphins as they were jumping and swimming along side the boat.
The next day we dined in the tallest restaurant in Australia which rotates as you eat so you can see right across Sydney. The views were incredible.
I even got to climb the bridge and walk across it. ( I was knackered ).
We have actually found a nandos out here which has made us all happy and once we found out that we all got the house we pitched for in Sydney to all live together, we all went to celebrate by going to nandos. Our house is gorgeous and there are 10 of us sharing it. It is about a 15minute train ride from bondi beach and a 10 minute boat ride from manly beach also. We get the keys on Monday. :)
I will try and update the next chapter next week after moving in as I am sure I have missed loadssssss out of this first blog.
Peace xxxx
