A late early morning today, had to get up around 8am because we we're supposed to be picked up 09.00 am for a sightseeing around town. But they had wrote the wrong time so they didn't pick us up until 9.30.
We had a really funny driver who told us everything you need to know about Wellington. We got to see the parliament house, a church made of timber called St Johns, inner city, botanical garden with a lovely rose garden, took a cable car from the botanical garden down to town again. We drove past the only beach in wellington city, orient parade, sea toun and up Victoria mountain.
We nearly saw Peter Jackson, the director of the lord of the rings trilogy, but we only saw his private jet.. We also saw where he and the crew live while filming and where the hobbits hid in a ditch from the evil knights. Pretty cool stuff. From the top of the mountain you had a 360 degrees view of Wellington, it's suburbs and the bay. Amazing view.
After our tour we did some shopping, had lunch and then went to New Zealand's national museum, which was nice. Learnt some stuff about NZ's geology and about maouri culture.
Back at the hostel we watched a movie about a boxer called Sonny and ha sweetcorn for dinner, yum!
