Another day full of adventure!
It didn't start so spectacular tough, we ate some breakfast and checked out. Went to town for free wifi and kept us updated with the world before we boarded our bus to Taupo. We arrived around 2.15pm and eventually found the way to our hostel, the description on our paper was a little bit tricky.
We checked out what you could see and do here, and we decided to see the Huka falls. You could take a jet boat or a cruise up to it, but we decided to go on our own and hired a bike. We haven't used a bike since we left sweden! Krista had some bad feeling about it and she sad that an accident probably would occur, was she right? Keep reading and see...
We biked on the walking track to Huka Falls and you could really feel in your legs that it had been a while since we had bicycled, at the same time it was really nice to be extremely exhausted in your muscles. Anyhow, we biked up and down (and sometimes walked), after one and a half hour we were finally there. It was really nice but we had imagined it more majestic and bigger. But it was really beautiful with the forrest that surrounded it. On our way back to Taupo we took the path made for cyclists, it was really narrow and bumpy. Sometimes the path was 40-50 cm wide and just by an edge down to a valley, wonder how many who have accidentally fallen down in the valley because of high speed? But we didn't!
When we had biked through the worst jungle forrest and came to a bigger road at the beginning of a field we could finally relax. But Krista relaxed too much. In a sharp curve she didn't turn the steer enough so she drove into a bush and the bike tipped over. But no harm done, but her prediction came true. We had a good laugh about it the rest of our way home.
We returned the bikes and went back to hostel for some food and just chilled.
