Hello there!
You may or may not be pleased to know we've actually been taking it easy and decided to use our 3 days in Noosa to detox so no crazy nihgts out but some wicked times were had getting close to nature and experience abo culture!
We had a spot of bother when we arrived as all the accommodtaion was fully booked and the hostel we were going to stay in mucked us around so we were pretty much homeless... and LIVID! It all worked out for the best because we ended up finding our own apartment that was huge with seperate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It looked over the beach and had 2 balconies and a pool. Great place for relaxing and chilling out which is pretty much what we did. We did a long walk through the national park which involved hiking throught the bush with coastal views and the views were stunning. It led us to a nudest beach which only had one nude on it (an old man urgh!) Some drunk approached us (white male with missing teeth) claiming that he hated the Poms and he was part of an abo tribe and the black 'tribal' man was trapped inside him! We headed back pretty sharpish after that!
We have also been to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins zoo) which was one of our favourite days so far. We hand fed Asian elephants and cuddled a koala. We saw a live show with big crocs and snakes which was awesome. We gave our respects to Steve Irwin at the tribute fence where ther were 1000's of messages for him from his fans, bit emotional. We then headed to the Kangaroo section of the park with our bags of feed that we had bought. The kanga's roam around and you can just go up to them and feed them it was wicked and very amusing when one clamped on the Lauren's hand with its claws and one nipped Emilie's palm in hope for more food! We now feel we are at one with nature!!
We left Noosa and made our way up to Hervey Bay, stopping at Rainbow Beach on route. When we stopped at Rainbow Beach we took part in some abo culture activities and had lessons in digeridoo playing, boomerang throwing and spear chucking - absolutely brilliant work! We feel we could be ready to join a tribe now or possibly start one of our own!
Lots of Love
Em and Loz
