Mumbai was crazy - as it the rest of india as far as we can make out! We flew from Mumbai to Jaipur in the north then caught a bus to Agra and visited the Taj Mahal, which was beautiful.
Today we are getting the overnight train to Varanassi where we are going to watch bodies float down the Gangees before attempting to head north to Darjeeling for a brew. Then the plan is then to fly to Delhi for a couple of days before flying down to Kerala and working our way up to meet friends in Goa in 3 weeks.
So India is a little crazy - imagine a road with 3 lanes on either side (not dissimilar to the M1) and you're on it at night and you're in a motor-rickshaw and you pass a cow in the central reservation and then a few cows in the slow lane trying to make a dash across to the other side. You pass people on bicycles, motorbikes (sometimes families of 4 on one bike), motor-rickshaws, cycle-rickhaws, trucks, pony and carts, cow and carts, camel and carts, most of whom have no lights. Then occasionaly you get any one of these coming the wrong way down the slow lane. There is also the odd Baboon knocking about. Oh the joys of india, we are taking our lives in our hands everytime we step outside the hotel!
Its also chilly at night up north but hot in the day - nice hot with a cool breeze, although the breeze is occasionally smelly.
We have also turned vegetarians for this part of our holiday which is ok as all the menus have more veggi stuff that they do meat, although I would give my right arm for an M&S chicken and stuffing sandwich right now!
But aside from all that it is brilliant and we are having a lot of fun and it might be crazy but India is the most beautiful country and we have definitely saved the best for last.
