hello everyone. This is my first blog, sorry it can't be longer. I will add more later on when i've got to australia.
Well, HK is amazing. This place is impressive. The second you get off the plane, you see how clean and friendly it is. It's very modern aswell, and the transport is very different from the uk. Firstly, it's always on time and it's very cheap. Kowloon is a very handy place to stay, we are staying at the YMCA, which is very cheap for it's location ( the star ferry, the place to leave for all your adventures is 2 mins around the corner!)When we arrived, we found that our room had been double booked, so we were upgraded to an amazing suite, that has a lounge, double bedroom and office, which lovely bathroom. We couldn't believe the view we had when we pulled back the curtains, all of hk island lit up. You don't get bored of this sight!! In the day that we had here, we have done quite alot - we made our way to the peak - which is a must do - the views you get for hardly any money is breath taking, and a great photo oppertunity!!!we had a really nice meal in a posh restaurant at the top of the sky tower with a view looking out onto the other side of kong kong island - all of the islands- even though we had many courses ( too many to count) it only cam to 12 pounds!!i was adventurous and tried everything I was given, even some ground down lotus flower balls that are deep friend. thats something i didnt think i would ever say id tasted!! places are so easy to find and get to -everyone speaks engligh and everyting is so well sign posted, it seems like everything has been designed to help tourits!!. We've been on a night ferry tour around the harbour - again - breath taking, we were on it for an hour which was a great oppertunity to take some good pictures up close of hong kong island and kowloon. we met a couple from hong kong island and it turned out that he had studied at durham university, he couldn't believe it when we told them that becki had too!!they took pictures of us ( it's really hard to get pictures of the two of you together!!) we've seen the symphony of lights, not as amazing as i thought it would have been but it was still a great experience. our next stop is singapore before moving onto syndey!! we are very excited. not looking forward to our flights though, they keep making us ill. even though we have been travelling in style, not quite 1st or business class, but you get hot towels and hagan daaz ice cream, what every traveller needs! we can't upload photos yet, sorry. right, i better go to bed now!! lots of love to you all!! em and becs!!xxxx
