21st August
ok well today, another really early start asnd tried to get out of bed earlier then what we actually did, fair enough since we had 3 days of killer travel. actually got our arses to the vatican city today, and yes we were alloud in this time, ahahaha, since we wore prope clothing. i even had to ware a long sleeved top into the church on a stinking hot day. it would of been at least 35 degrees. but yes the vatican city was definatly worth the wiat. it was absolutly breathitaking, coulnd beleive my eyes when i was looking at this massive peice of construction. wanting to do some sort of tour but there was nothing really avaliable so stacey and i did an audio guided tour about the chuch. you would nver believe what is in the church aswell, after a couple of statues and paintings there is...... yes you guessed it....... the last pope, pope john paul i think it is, the last one who dies, waxed embalmed and on display for anyone to come up to, pay respects and of course take as many pictures as they wan of this dead guy. holy crap you say, yes that is exactly what i say too. aaaaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhh scary i never thought i i would see that in the church. for the rest of that day, walked around the vatican dodging every person emaginable and got the hell out of there. it was a stinking hot day and already exhausted decided to chill out back at the hostel. grabbed myself some internet time and bokoed my future travels and flights to get me back for munich for oktoberfest. that night had one last dinner with stacey and crawled into bed.
today checked out of this hostel and walked with stacey to the train station. while she went to the airport i went to naples and pompei. it as a 2 hour train ride to get to naples and then another half hour to get to pompei. really really wanted to go so i made the effort and made it. unfortunatly it was another stinking hot day and walking around ruins was probaly not the greatest thing to do on this day. pompei is htis amazing lost city that got covered by ash and now the whole city is pretty much found. learnt some awwsom ehistory behind it and saw peoples bodies that were preserved in the ash. weird and amazing. dammit i left my stuupid favourite hat on the train, nevermind. oh yeah i forgot, if you ever go to pompei, make sure that you show that you are from perth, people from perth get extra discounts and on top of the fact im under 26!!!! getting back on the train back to naples and then from naples to rome. unfortunatly got on the wrond train, the expensive train and the stupid security guard luckly charged me only for the preice of the ticket, which wasnt cheap, 35 euro and didnt fine me. so pissed off and the train guard wasnt much help and my italian was terrible, not understanding and not trying to listen both of us i dont think we got along to well. this awsome old guy sitting across from me had a heart of gold, offered to pay for my ticket and me trying to control myself of course said no, but we compramised and he bought me a massive baguuette for dinner. some people out there just dont know how valuable they are. what a champion. then had to catch another train then a bus to get to the rome campiing ground to catch the busabout but to florence again.
