Day 2.
Today we spent the day in Vancouver. We only have the 1 day here at the beginning of the trip, but will be back for more time here at the end.
Vancouver is a really lovely city - it has a really nice lively atmosphere, and everyone is so friendly!
Since we only have the 1 day, we walked from the hotel to downtown, and ended up at Canada Place. Then we decided to take the Big Red HoHo Bus. First we just did the full loop of Vancouver, and listened to all the commentary etc. It was a really nice ride around, and great way to see some of the city. Then on the second loop we started hoping on and off.
We went to Harbour Centre & up to the top of the Vancouver Sky Tower. Great views! I really wanted to go back at night and see it then too, but we didn't get there. Oh well, will do it when we get back here.
After Harbour Centre, we got on the bus again and went over to Stanley Park. It's a massive park in the middle of the city, and is bigger than Central Park in NY. It's really pretty, but my stupid camera was only letting me take 10 photos, so i'll have to wait and get some off mom's camera to upload.
We did a horse drawn carriage tour, which was fantastic! The guide (Kim) was great, and it was a really nice way to see around the park. We saw Black Squirrels, Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, a woodpecker, Canadian Geese & that's all I can remember. ..
After Stanley Park, we headed down Robson Street (Shopping District) and had a look around and some dinner. There are some great shops on Robson St, so will be stopping in there again when we get back to Vancouver!
Tomorrow it's off through the Rocky Mountains on the Rocky Mountaineer.
