Ellie's Travels
Hi everybody, thank you for all your messages it is so great to hear from you all.
finally arrived in Cambodia walked through a giant stone arch onto Cambodian soil. Met up with a great English couple who have been travelling for 2 years and shared a five hour taxi to Siam Reap. The roads are a nightmare dirt tracks with giant potholes so the car journey was interesting. Two currancys here which is hard to get your head round.
Real culture shock here but love it. Met english couple today at 7.30 am and took motorcycle for 1 hour to get to giant lake. Then had boat to ourselves, which took us to floating village. There was the most beautiful quiant huts, a floating school, Police St, petrol st, floating pigs stys, even a merry go round, you had to see it all to believe it.
Then an hour by boat to the underwater jungle, which isnt underwater until the wet season in June. Was still interesting to see all the wooden houses on 6-9 metre stilts. The kids were entertaining were so intrigued by us Westerners, wanting to hold our hands, got some great pics, although havent got the port to put them on now.
Meeting Jackie and Martin at 5am to get taxi to watch sun rise and Angkor Wat, am so excited will stay there to watch sunset.
