Ok. So I dont think that you can see the same route as I have a map for so my last message wont make much sense? I have now located the Mexico image library! - Adding a photo is obligatory. This tulum much further down the coast. Replace the rocky ruins with highrise hotels and thats the cancun coast. Sea is nice and aqua with big rolling waves. Luckily it stopped raining this morning as i checked out of the hostel so explored nearby-downtown but had all my things so didnt go too far, the plants and trees here are so lush, very beautiful street wildlife!! Now in the only hostel in cancun in the beach zone. Here its a lot more kind of touristy, i think where i was yesterday was more local cancun, i really liked it, more rough round the edges but was a little apprehensive as only just arrived, but it had a certain charm, here its a bit more clinical. Am now in an ex shopping mall - hostal! - mayan themed! The steps on my bunkbed are faux tree logs! Its a step up from yesterdays accom. Went to beach which was a mission in the end as there arent really public entrances and exits even though all beach is public land, so had to sneak through some hotels! Hot here but very overcast after last nights stormy weather, so managed to get slightly pink through the cloud without realising! In general it feels like it is out of season - which it is, like where are all the party people the guide book warned me about!? Had tasty lunch in a Forrest gump themed bar - although didnt cotton on to that for a while! Had a cocktail that looked like a party in a glass - literally flashy lights in the cup! It seemed the vast majority of the drinks came in a outrageous glass! was given a very impressive balloon animal - a tiger by a mexican clown called pao pao, which actually made my day as was feeling a little lonely after a long trek round quiet beach. Have just returned to hostel. Booked into a big theatrical thing for tonight "coco bongo" theatrical show, open bar and disco! Tomorrow im going to chichenitza ruins. Made friends with Quan the guide who sells tours through our hotel! Him and his friend were nice and funny! So going to chill for a bit then find some food and drinks and hit the show later at 10pm. The early start tomorrow will not be good but I can sleep on the coach as its a couple of hours away. Muchos love x
