Your Mothers
Hello Girls!Sorry we haven't E-mailed recently but we've had such a busy and exciting week!On Monday Pat did a sponsored jump to raise awareness of the closures at QueenMaryHospital.I'm not very good with heights and kept my feet firmly on the ground, but Pat managed the third step and raised £1.86.Cool!!Tuesday found us both snorkelling in Priory Gardens where we were lucky enough to spot a submerged C & A trolley - a scoop for us as there hasn't been a sighting of one since 1978.We weren't allowed to touch it but did get a photo which I'll put on my next blog.Amazing or what? Thanks for all your photos showing you with the crocs and tigers and of course the tarantulas. We had our own narrow escape on Wednesday when we came face to face with our native Lepthyphantes minutes.Apparently the bite of the red-back variety is fatal** and neither of us wants to see another money spider for quite some time!!!Thursday was a bit of a let-down.We had been so looking forward to brown water rafting on the Thames but the weather was against us so we did some washing instead.Another few weeks and we will have got to the bottom of your laundry baskets and it will be quite safe for you to come home!!We heard on Friday that members of its indigenous tribe were gathering that evening in Bromley, so off we went on the upstairs (very daring!) of a 208 bus (very bumpy!) to see if we could spot them. And there they all were in their traditional dress (skimpy top, tracksuit bottoms, hooped earrings) greeting us in their customary manner - "You looking at me?You got a problem?"SCAREY!!!!!Saturday was cold with snow so of course out came the tin trays and we set a new pairs' toboggan record for getting to the Doctors' Surgery at the bottom of the hill in 12.56 seconds, which was just as well as we collided with an R3 bus coming up.The plaster casts come off in six weeks.Well, must fly, we have some Extreme Ironing to do!** to greenfly
