We're on our last day in Bath today, heading back to London but I have thoroughly enjoyed Bath despite being told by several people that it would be boring and dull! It's a very small town so it's quite easy to get everywhere.
We've seen Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and Pump room where we drank some of the famous spa water (turns out its like flat, warm mineral water.. a little bit gross) and have spent our last two evenings wandering around the christmas markets. Everyone here gets into the christmas spirit quite early (you would hate it mum)!
On our first night whilst shopping at the markets Alex and I were approached by two guys who came up and said 'you must be American students!' we corrected them and went to continue on our way but they kept chattering about all sorts of things, turns out they were Russian and one of them was a magician. It then took us about 15 minutes to eventually get away as they were very persistent that we should go have coffee with them and 'discover Bath together'. Ahh!
Yesterday we went on a bus tour out to Stonehenge. I was surprised to find it was actually quite fascinating even though I'm still convinced it really is just some rocks in the middle of nowhere. The tour then took us out to a town called Lacock where some more Harry Potter was filmed. We saw Harry's parents house used in the first movie and Slughorn's house from the most recent film. It was very nice to drive through all the English countryside.
Today we're hoping to get to the Jane Austen centre and do some more shopping before heading back to London to catch our flight to Dublin tomorrow!
Looking forward to even more rain in Ireland!
lots of love,
Ellie xxxx
