So after a week of spanish lessons my ability to speak the language is probably back to where it was when I was learning at GCSE, can understand about 90% but have little to no confidence in actually being able to speak it myself, but i´m getting by.
Other than spainsh lessons last week was spent looking round the markets in the area, goin up the Teleferico to see an awesome view of Quito and visiting the coolest red line i might ever see, the equator, at el mitad de mundo (middle of the world), reasonably touristy but worth seeing none the less. We went on a sunday which means live muic and dancers which was pretty cool as well.
Today was my first day at the volunteer project, a day care centre for children between the ages of 1 and 5. They´re good kids and I just about coped spanish wise, however my vocab does not stretch to spounge bob square pants in spanish.
Theres a carnival on this weekend so might do something exciting for that and I still want to see the old town.
Thankfully it wasnt to difficult to find somewhere to watch the Six nations rugby and the Superbowl!
