There wasn't any snow this morning, just rain. We went out for breakfast and booked a car to take us to the airport on the way back. The lady at reception said it was hard to get a yellow taxi when it was raining so booking a car was a much better option.
It had taken 1.5hrs to get into Manhattan when we first arrived so we allowed plenty if time to get to the airport - it only took 45mins. The airport was very quiet - no queue to check in, very short queue for security and hardly any people around. The flight left on time & was smooth all the way to Dallas.
We got on the bus to the rental car centre - only ones on the bus and no waiting at Budget. It was all a bit of a shock after the crowds of NYC.
After a couple of wrong turns, we found our way to Hotel Adolphus in downtown Dallas. It is a beautiful historic hotel. The entry floors of the hotel are still undergoing renovations but the rooms have all been completed. Jane got us an upgrade and we are in an Executive suite which is lovely. There was a lady at reception when we first came in but other then her, we are yet to see or hear another person in this hotel!
We went into Main Street for dinner tonight and there weren't many people around there either. But, we did get to see where the giant eyeball sculpture is. We will go back in the daylight. It looks as though there is plenty to do here - we might start with a hop on hop off trolley tomorrow.
