This morning was so mild. The weather man said no winter costs were needed and he was right. Just a light fleece & a rain jacket as it was forecast to rain from about 11am.
We walked up to Rockefeller Square & looked around the shops there, including the Lego store before we went to lunch at the Empire Steak House that we had booked yesterday. We had hoped to do a horse & carriage ride around Central Park but they weren't running. Instead, we came across Santa ice skating at Rockefeller Square!!!
The restaurant was surprisingly quiet. There were only a couple of other people in there. We had a lovely steak lunch before retiring to the front cocktail bar for a drink before Caroline was picked up. She was heading back to the UK tonight.
After she left about 6.15pm, I went for a walk up to 5th Avenue. The weather man had said winter coats were needed again by about 7pm and gphe was right. There was no rain but the temperature had dropped. At least I found St Thomas's cathedral for Christmas Day. I also found a Furla store and men selling plenty of fake Prada handbags which I will need to look at again. Usually you see those in Chinatown, not 5th Avenue!!
I am up for any early night tonight. We walked over 14kms yesterday & then stood for most of the Billy Joel concert.
