Hi Everyone!
Well, I have to say that where I am sat now does definitely not look like the picture above at the moment! It has rained a fair bit so far and is currently throwing it down! So much for the dry season!
I am fine and got here after a very long and delayed journey but was given a hotel room at a lovely guest house on Saturday day while I waited for my next flight- I even had a hot shower which will be a concept I will have forgotten by the time I am home! ... James, that doesn't mean we can save on the hot water bill!
We are off to the bush tomorrow for our first project which will be for two and a half weeks. We had loads of talks yesterday from the project leaders about their work here. You can see the results just walking around the town such as a public toilet they have built as a lot of the locals use the lake- nice!
They also have a big health and santization project as some people do not know to wash their hands and generally look after themselves which results in the diseases here. .... Do not worry, my hand sanitizer is my best friend!
Food is fairly basic but is tasty - a lot of rice and beans so far with plenty more to come when we go to the bush!!
This keyboard is awful and I keep mis-spelling things go this is all for now and I will update it again in a couple of weeks when I am back in town.
Hope everyone is OK and send me any news for me to pick up when I get back to town!!
Liz xx
