Currently in East Greenwich, RI babysitting 3 of my favorite children in the world (and quite possibly the cutest - see pic). I arrived yesterday around lunch time and I'll be leaving tomorrow around 7pm. At which time Mom and Lauren will pick me up en route to CT for our 1/2 marathon. Honestly, I am slightly in shock that I'm running 13.1 miles and feel so nonchalant about it. Maybe I am becoming a runner?? Crazy.
Speaking of crazy, 72 hours from now I will be boarding the plane to Israel. The thought of being back there sends so many emotions tearing through my mind and soul that I can hardly contain myself. I can hardly believe that I was actually considering not going back until next summer/fall. When I do think of that, the words of a good friend come to mind..."In any case, do not lose sight of what you have come to see. Obligation tends to accompany the mind's opening - you've seen need and now believe you can help. Not doing so is a trend embraced by most unfortunately." He's taught me a thing or two, that friend of mine.
Got a backpack, finally. Not the exact one I wanted but very close. A North Face Terra 30 - big enough yet small enough. Now I'll just need to pack it and I'll be all set. Tomorrow I'll take the boys shopping while Morgan is at school so I can pick up a voltage converter. I don't want to be frying any hair straighteners like a certain sister of mine did in Israel last time...
That's a wrap for now, the kids wake up at the crack of dawn. I hope to see people on Saturday night at my house for our post-half marathon, pre-Israel going away party. It'll be a solid night.
