Well, we are in Russia AND IT IS COVERED IN SNOW!
The airport is very clean and very old, solid Soviet construction, functional but soulless.
We had no trouble at passport control, just a bored lady going through the motions and straight through customs without an official in sight. We were the only non-locals on the flight though, the flight attendant kept talking to us in Russian, I ask you, do we look Russian? White and blond (well grey)!
Our guide is a nice lady called Olga and our driver is Vladimir, you couldn't script that in Hollywood.
Well apart from the ear-ache courtesy of a cold picked up somewhere (not blaming you Sam - much) and dodgy cabin pressure, we are good and excited by the snow.
Olga said that it only just snowed last night for the first time, just for us!
Kat is in bed already (no stamina) and I have been forced, practically kicking and screaming to the bar, so I could update this blog using their free WiFi. A sense of duty can be a trial sometimes and Baltica7 beer is very ok
