What a beautiful start to the day, looking out the window to see everything covered in new white snow. The city looked clean and fresh. Then we realized that we were late for breakfast. We made it but there wasn't much left. People who came in after us had to pick around like crows after the scraps. After breakfast it was time to head out to check the snares.
We caught the trolley bus like old pros, (probably a poor turn of phrase) but this time there were no soldiers stopping us at Red Square. There were lots of souvenir stalls though and a huge number of people mooching around the square taking photos and generally getting in my way as I tried to take photos. The square looked absolutely beautiful in its layer of snow. Saint Basil's Cathedral is I would say the most beautiful building in the world and it was even more beautiful in the snow.
As their was no shops open and especially no coffee shops open, we headed back to the bus stop and this time we didn't walk back.
We went to the hotel lobby bar for coffee and to catch up on the blog and diary entries. This was ok for a while but at another table a loud mouth person was telling his table companions about how good he was and that he was a superstar singer or something. It was a bit me me me and when he started talking about the women and money he had we decided to find somewhere quieter, like our room. Anyway it was snooze time.
When I say that everything was closed, I meant even the restaurant so it was back to the lobby bar for a light tea.
This time there were a bunch of poms drinking loudly in the corner and one of the girls (straight out of "shameless") was trying to tee up a threesome with a local girl who seemed a little reluctant, making the pommy girl louder and more insistent. Well it made for some entertainment while we ate our pizza.
Dunno what we are going to do tomorrow, depends on the shops being open I'd say.
