6.9-6.13 / Weekend Before
Location: Chicago
The week and weekend before our departure were pretty eventful. We watched the Hawks win the cup and listened to Chicagoans honk horns and party throughout the night from our apartment. The crowd noise from the parade woke us up on Friday morning, and we looked out the window to see an enormous throng of revelers! The parade route was packed with an estimated 2 million people, spanning a 2 miles route.
That celebration kicked off my graduation weekend, for which mum and dad flew in. We dined and wined and had a jolly good time.
We bid adieu to mum and dad on Sunday, then commenced our busy busy day of last minute purchases and packing for our 6 weeks in Asia. We also had to get rid of everything else left in the apartment (including my baby palm tree, Stacy). In celebration of Monica's birthday and both our graduations, we went to dinner at Geja's cafe that evening, the romantic fondue restaurant where we ate the night we got engaged.
We finally wrapped up our to-do list around midnight, and went straight to bed for a relatively early wake up the next morning.
