It's been 3 months since we were last here, sitting in Hong Kong airport waiting for a flight. This time it's to our last stop, Vietnam! (Brian, we'll take lots of photos for you!)
As for our last couple of days in Hong Kong - we spent one of them getting the ferry over to Hong Kong Island itself, which has a very different feel to Kowloon, where we have been staying. HK Island is the financial hub so a lot more international and a lot more smart. The shops are 90% designer brands - certainly nothing we could afford! We also went up the Bank of China building which has a viewing platform on the 43rd floor. We had been hoping to make it up to the peak, but unfortunately the cloud was too low the whole time we were there.
On our last day we got the bus to Stanley, a more of a tourist town with a beach and a market which was interesting to wander around but nothing special. There was a class of Chinese students who were doing a fieldtrip that day conduction questionnaires on pollution so we were interviewed about 3 times each!
About to board our plane in a minute, looking forward to Vietnam..hopefully we don't melt, the temperature was 38 degrees there last week!
