Stopped in Spruce Grove to re-torque the wheel nuts and u-bolts at Kal Tire. Good thing too since a few were loose.Mentioned Rotary and received free service, THANKYOU SPRUCE GROVE KAL TIRE! Arrived in Acheson truck stop (north of Devon) around 11am for lunch and waited for Grande Prairie group.
Met everyone from the G.P. group over lunch. A real mix of young and old, male and female, should be an interesting trip.
One of the fire trucks from G.P. had a drive shaft break on the way to Acheson. It was a shaft that operated the water pump (the truck still drives fine) so the new owners are likely going to have to use a portable pump instead (parts for old fire truck pumps are extremely rare). After fueling up, a different fire truck failed to start. Turned out Tab from G.P. had left the truck in gear (I'm sure he hear about it repeated this trip). We then waited about an hour for CBC news to come and do a quick story on our trip. Finally left Acheson 3 hours after arriving, 2:45pm, a sign of things to come?
