The last part of the 10 day tour through the northern Territory was to Kakadu. Firstly we headed to Litchfield NAtional Park for some sanke handling and a cruise down the Adelaide River to watch some croc's. The skipper was dangling big pieces of meat off the boat and gettign the huge croc's to jump vertically out of the boat to maul the meat... quite a sight. Check out the pictures and the video and you'll see what I mean. We then headed into litchfield National Park to have a swim in the Burley Rock Hole and Florence Falls- it was nice to swim under the waterfalls and jump in off the rock faces!
The second day we were in Kakadu national Park... unfortunatly it was the wet season, so not only was there alot of tropical rain, but this also meant that lots of the park was closed so our choices were limited (only about 10% of the park was open). So In the next few days we made our way around the open parts, mainly to more swimming holes- but this was still fun as it gave lots more opportunities to swim in waterfalls, slides down rapids and jump off more cliff faces! We also went around some of the rock formations where the Aboriginals had painted art on up to 20,000 years ago- quite amazing really
What we did see was amazing and some of the views were breathtaking- just a shame that we couldn't see it all... still gives me another excuse to come back
