What a great day in a great city. We have an AirBnB apartment in the old town right by the Charles Bridge. We arrived late last night and had a quick walk around and some good Czech food (goulash, beef in cream sauce, smoked pork dumplings) and a Pilsner. Had a coffee and a pastry (spiral 'chimney' cake, cooked on the side of the road, apparently the locals don't eat them so will call the tourist cakes from now on).
We climbed the Old Town Charles Bridge Tower for a great view over the bridge and up towards the castle. All the streets and houses are gorgeous, I will post some photos in a folder here, I was using the new camera and not so many on my phone (will take longer to post...). Had a great walk around the castle complex, it's huge, then on up to Petrin Hill lookout, this is a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower, but built on the top of a hill overlooking the city and the river. Had a great dinner of Roast Pork (Evelyn had goulash again) washed down with the dark beer Kozel. We met up with Ivo who lives here in Prague, a swift Urquel then we went to Romeo & Juliet by the National Ballet company at the stunning Opera House.
Time for bed, another day in wonderful Prague tomorrow....
