Hi everyone! Its time for the second edition of our "most excellent adventure" journal. Today was even more awsome then yesterday--probably because we were less jetlagged...although Eden did wear her pants backwards all day and heather stumbeled drunkenly a few times (don't worry, she was only tipsy from lack of sleep). After breakfast we went to Picadilly Circus and got tickets for Les Miserables. Then we went strait to Hyde park. Yes, we finally found it. It was very beautiful. Sorry mom Rawlings, there was no changing of the guard today, but we're planning a return trip. After Hyde park we went to the tourist traps. We saw Big Ben (who is currently under repair--he's lost his voice). Then we pushed our way through really thick crowds and got tickets for, stood in a looooooooong line, and rode the London Eye. The view was amazing!!!! Then we saw Westminster Abbey, but couldn't go inside, it was closed. Next, Trafalgar Square. CROWDED! Eden was really dissapointed that there were no birds to feed and let land on her, heather wasn't too dissapointed...for some reason. (It might be because of the sign that she saw that stated it was a £50 penalty for feeding the birds or maybe because she didn't want them to poop on her...who knows). Then we went to the national gallery and it was completely free. The maps were really complicated...or maybe it was just the jetlag again.
Next we went back to Picadilly to find something to eat before the show. We were hoping for fish and chips, (we looked for the best in london online last night and there was one nearby) but couldn't find anything. We wandered around and first we were in Chinatown, but then somehow we made it into...the grown up area. I don't know why but all the shops said "adult". All the guys were standing really close to each other. Hmmm. All the wandering payed off because we found the hotel that the chip shop was supposed to be in...and it was closed for renovation.
We saw some really good performances too. Some of them were in the tube station (seriously they were good!) One of them even had a free cd to take, but we had no change to give him so we felt bad taking it. The rest of it was at LES MISERABLES!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of us have always wanted to see it and we weren't dissapointed. Heather even got a bit faclemphed...even though she is a Smith and has icewater running through her veins. Eden was almost bawling and was hoping no one noticed until she saw the guy next to her was also bawling. It was so good! Now we are back at the Hostel and thats the end of our story...for today. And no Brittany we are not going to loose anything. Keep the messages coming. We enjoyed hearing from you.
