How do you say hello in German? Guttentag! t has been a crazy couple of days with all of the traveling and what not. On Saturday we headed to Venice and sat down next to some interesting people. One guy seemed to be a big fan of DOlce and Gabana...Eden thought he might have been a vampire because he smelt so good...Anyway but our train broke down along the way so we ended up getting to Venice later than we had planned. We tried looking for our hostel only to find out that we got off on the wrong stop. Our hostel was in an interesting part of town next to the train station butat least the people that ran it were nice. As soon as we checked in we got back on a train and headed to the main island to have a look around. We followed the canal and saw some gondoliers (Sp?) and in one of the boats there was a man singing italian songs along with an accordian player. Aonther romantic moment for the two of us. NOT! We found a place to eat and Eden had calamari and Heatherhad pasta, but she did try some of the calamari and it wasn´t so bad. We found the Rialto bridge and had our last bucket of gelato ice cream...I wish it was a bucket.
This morning Eden woke up with a viral plague. We went to the train station and tried to get tickets to Salzburg but we were informed that there was a strike going on and so some of the lines were closed. We jumped on a train to Vienna hoping that we could some how find a way make the trip...That was where we came across Roberto (again, the storryis true but the name has been changed...or made up). He was an interesting Italian man and he said that everything was "beautiful", even the book IT by Stephen King. He was very talkative and wanted to know about our American movies. He's a big Indiana Jones Fan apparentlyand when the fourth one comes out he's going to dres up in his Fedora hat and Panama suit and whip and go see it with all his friends. He got off the train at the border and we continued on to the first stop in Austria where we found a train to Salzburg. >GLORIOUS! We made it in and went to our hostel. Right now we are set up to see the Sound of Music Tour and the Saltmines tomorrow. While walking through town we found another Zara for Eden so this time it might be harder for her to contain herself. We'll keep you all informed.
